Songs That Will Bring All Ex-Emos Back to the 2000s

The year is 2019, and you’re an adult who’s living the basic adult life: work as much as possible, sometimes studying or sitting in a class, but you’re not sure why you’re there… Eat when possible, sleep if admissible, watch your paycheck disappear to bills you didn’t even know you had, etc. It’s a pretty mundane existence. But then you hear it, that first note of your favorite song from high school, back when life was about angst and Hot Topic and how many black items could you get away with wearing before your parents started to notice. A simpler time, yet a darker time; when bands like My Chemical Romance were still together, and Chester Bennington hadn’t left us yet. There are many more “ex-emo” people out there, and you might know some based on their updated “gothic-chic” style, or they might surprise you in the form of a contemporary suburban mom or dad. Even if you weren’t a die-hard emo, the truth of the matter is, we all have a little inside of us. So, hop aboard the nostalgia train and get ready to head for twenty-five of your favorite 2000’s emo anthems!
