4 Things You Must Do This Summer

Even if you’re no longer in school, there’s just something about summer that makes us feel free. Maybe it’s the weather, which allows the community and other people to do things they normally couldn’t do in the other seasons, or maybe it’s just the general sense of happiness that comes after the seasonal gloom has hobbled off to rest for the next six months. Either way, a lot of people love summer, and their brains are teeming with questions on what they could possibly do next. Well, we’re here to answer that question with four things you absolutely need to do this summer!

 #1. Vacation.

This one is pretty subjective, because “vacation” can mean going to the Bahamas and be waited on hand and foot for a week to one person, camping by the lake for a weekend for another, or, to some, vacationing is staying home for a week and a half doing absolutely nothing. Whatever it is that brings you the refresher on life that you need, do it. Take a week off work, and do what will reset that mental cork screw that was digging into the back of your skull.

 #2. Visit a botanical garden.

During the summer, these gardens are thriving with life, and they are like a portal to another world with all the plants that a lot of people have never seen. The very purpose of these gardens is to cultivate plants that the average public can’t see on a regular basis. Most major cities have them. Pop by the nearest one and you won't regret it!

#3. Go to, or host, a cookout!

One of the biggest summer traditions are the bBarbecue/cookout parties. If you are hosting, then the food choices are yours to reign over, whether it be chicken, beef, pork, or vegetarian and/or vegan. Nothing says "summer fun" more than the smell of a grill and a buffet of dishes brought by close friends and family. Turn up the music, break out the yard games, crack open a beer, and party on!

 #4. Attend a show.

There are tons of music festivals during the summer months, as well as comedy shows and other entertainment performances. Attend one, or attend ten, the choice is yours! A concert is something no one should have to miss out on — and summer is filled with amazing options.
