Information Collection and Use
FlipTix, Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell this information to others without your permission. We will not share information that personally identifies you with third party partners unless you give us permission, although by your use of the FlipTix.com website or mobile app you are acknowledging that we have permission to do so. For shipping, payment processing and Flip fulfillment purposes, FlipTix, Inc. may need to share personal information such as name, payment and shipping address to third parties. Without the consent to do so the orders may not be filled correctly. FlipTix, Inc. collects information from our users at several different points on our websites and may transfer internally. We provide information and content to vendors and service providers who support our business, such as by providing technical infrastructure services, analyzing how our Products are used, providing customer service, facilitating payments or conducting surveys. We share information with law enforcement or in response to legal requests in the circumstances outlined below. In general, FlipTix retains this information for at least 7 years in connection with regulatory, tax, insurance, and other legal requirements, unless longer retention is required by law. Information regarding a User account will be retained for as long as you maintain a FlipTix account. FlipTix will retain your information at least as long as you maintain a FlipTix account.
FlipTix may collect information about the devices you use to access our services, including the hardware models, operating systems and versions, software, file names and versions, preferred languages, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers, serial numbers, device motion information, and mobile network information. This information helps us communicate with you; protect your safety and security; optimize and improve your experience; and prevent, detect, and combat fraud. The collection of this information is not optional and occurs whenever you use our services.
FlipTix collects information including the amount charged, date and time, promotion code referral information, services requested or provided, and transaction details. This information is used for tax, financial, and other administrative purposes to provide customer support, to prevent and detect fraud, and for research and development. This information is generated and collected when you request or provide services using FlipTix’s app. The collection of this information is not optional and occurs whenever you use our services.
FlipTix or service providers performing surveys on FlipTix’s behalf may collect information from you through voluntary surveys. The surveys may ask about your background and behavior to help us understand how you use our services. In some countries, we may also receive demographic information about you from third parties. We use this information to better understand which features and products users want to see in the future, to help identify areas where we need to make changes, and for direct marketing. When you complete surveys being conducted by or on behalf of FlipTix. We also work with marketing partners in certain countries who may provide this information to FlipTix from time to time. You can decline to participate in our voluntary surveys. We do not enable opt-outs from collections from third parties. We retain this information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. We collect this information based on your consent and based on FlipTix’s legitimate interests (for example, to help us better understand our users and how they use our services, and for marketing purposes).
We collect information that helps us determine your location, including GPS, IP address, and wifi. There are numerous ways that your location data creates a smooth and stress-free experience. Your location is used to determine if you have left a venue, or if you are in proximity to a venue to make a purchase; facilitate research and development; enable social features; provide faster and personalized customer support; enhance the safety and security of our users; and prevent, detect, and combat fraud. For sellers, we collect this information when the app is running in the foreground or background of your device, for the purpose of knowing when you have left a venue. For Flip purchasers who grant FlipTix permission to collect their location information, we collect this information when the app is running in the foreground and in some regions, we may also collect this information when the app is running in the background. Sellers and purchasers are not required to turn on location services to use the FlipTix app. However, opting out may affect the app’s functionality. For example, a seller will have to locate a manual scan out exit to have their ticket scanned out, and purchasers may purchase tickets for events that they cannot arrive at prior to its conclusion. FlipTix processes this information in order to provide the services and features you request and for purposes of FlipTix’s legitimate interests such as safety, security, and fraud prevention for all users. For sellers and purchasers who have given us permission to collect their location data, we also collect this information on the basis of consent.
We collect information about how you interact with our services. This includes information such as access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, app crashes and other system activity, type of browser, and third-party sites or service you were using before interacting with our services. In some cases, we collect this information through cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies that create and maintain unique identifiers.
If you permit the FlipTix app to access the address book on your device, we may collect names and contact information from your address book for purposes such as facilitating social interactions through our services. If you permit the FlipTix app to access the calendar on your device, we collect calendar information such as event title and description, your response (Yes, No, Maybe), date and time, location, and number of attendees.
This website takes precautions to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also take reasonable efforts to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees or contractors who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. We request information from the user on our order form. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user. Surveys & Contests
From time-to-time our site requests information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
We send all new members a welcoming communication to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, special deals, and a newsletter. Site and Service Updates
We also send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to unsubscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and regarding issues relating to their account via email or phone.
Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. For example, our order form has an 'opt-out' mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but don't want any marketing material, can keep their email address off our lists.
